BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Our agency recently received an incredible donation of 20,000 “Face Masks” from Beachwave Beachwear that were donated in partnership with our agency to help combat COVID-19 during the space launch that is currently scheduled for May 27.

The donation was the idea of Mosh Gal, President of Beachwave Beachwear, his General Manager, Gil Franco, and the entire team at Beachwave Beachwear who contacted our agency and offered to donate 20,000 “Face Masks” to assist in social distancing during the launch.

The goal is for their employees, members of our Community Relations Team, and volunteers to hand out the masks to those in attendance along the various Brevard County viewing locations so that everyone can do their part in helping eradicate the virus.

The masks will be made available for free at various stations along with the viewing areas that will be designated with “free face masks” signage.

If you would like to volunteer to assist in handing out the face masks, please email Cape Canaveral City Councilman Wes Morrison who not only helped coordinate the donation but is also helping to coordinate volunteers for the event.

Beachwave Beachwear is a locally owned business that is always a great partner to our agency and truly subscribes to our belief that “It Takes a Community to Protect a Community!”

Please join me in thanking Mosh, Gil and the entire Beachwave Beachwear team for partnering with us to help protect our community and for all they do each and every day as partners of our agency.

Wes can be reached by email at W.Morrison@cityofcapecanaveral.org and we truly thank him for taking part in this effort to keep everyone safe.

– Sheriff Wayne Ivey
