City of Palm Bay to Offer Free Appointment Only Drive-Thru COVID-19 Testing at City Hall

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA –  Beginning on Friday, May 15,  the City of Palm Bay will operate a COVID-19 testing site at Palm Bay City Hall, located at 120 Malabar Road SE and accessible through the northwest entrance of the City Hall parking lot.

Through a partnership with Brevard County Emergency Management, the City has secured 250 oral swab COVID-19 test kits to supplement the available testing in southern Brevard County.

The testing capability will be limited to 250 tests initially, though additional testing may be offered based on test kit availability.

COVID-19 testing will be offered by-appointment-only on the following dates:

• Friday, May 15 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
• Saturday, May 16 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
• Monday, May 18th from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Testing offered by the City of Palm Bay will be free of charge and available by appointment only on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tests will be available to individuals 18 years of age and older. The City of Palm Bay testing site will be a drive-thru site; however, accommodations may be available for those utilizing public transit or other means of transportation as needed and by request only.

Tests will be administered by Palm Bay Fire Rescue personnel with Paramedic or Emergency Medical Technician designations.

Individuals seeking a COVID-19 test at the City of Palm Bay testing site will be required to complete a pre-screening questionnaire by telephone to gather information about symptoms, demographics, and contact information. There will be no minimum testing criteria required for the City of Palm Bay’s test site.

Individuals without access to a personal vehicle, those using public transit, or another means of transportation must notify the representative during the pre-screening call.

Following the pre-screening procedure, a Palm Bay Fire Rescue representative will contact the individual within 48 hours to schedule their COVID-19 testing appointment.

The City will begin accepting pre-screening calls beginning Tuesday, May 12. To complete the required pre-screening, please call 321-726-2770. The line will be staffed from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. Tests will be processed by Quest Laboratories and results may be expected within 4-7 days.
