BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) announced on Thursday that 10 state-supported drive-through COVID-19 testing sites, including the one that opened this week in Palm Bay, will be closed Friday, May 15, through Sunday, May 17.

The National Weather Service is anticipating breezy conditions from an off-shore tropical system beginning overnight Friday, and winds are not expected to dissipate until the early hours of Sunday.

The winds anticipated would leave tent structures at the testing site on the campus of Eastern Florida State College vulnerable.

Staff at the test site are taking advantage of tomorrow’s favorable weather conditions to safely breakdown equipment and move it to an indoor location for storing over the weekend.

Free, no-appointment-required COVID-19 testing will resume for normal hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., beginning Monday, May 18.
