BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Our beloved Brenda Louise Smith passed away on May 30th after a courageous battle with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease.

Born in Vancouver on July 8, 1960, Brenda was a world-traveler, living in Vancouver, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Montreal and Orlando by the time she’d finished high school.

A member of the Tri Delta Sorority at UCF,  she graduated with a degree in marketing and continued her travels in a career that spanned almost three decades as an international tourism marketing professional at Seaworld, Church Street Station, and Universal Studios, just to name a few.

She lived with a genuine joie de vivre and was devoted to each of the many good friends she accumulated wherever she went.

Her illness was no match for her boundless energy and love of having fun which improved the lives of both patients and staff who loved and cared for her to her final moments on earth. We want to thank The Palms Rehabilitation Center for their compassion.

Brenda is preceded by her parents David and Reina and survived by her sisters, Gailanne Grosso and Linda Basich.

Brenda will be remembered with a celebration of life near the ocean in Cocoa Beach, where she lived with her cat Gizmo and boyfriend Peter for seven years, followed by her stay at The Palms for five years. The dates and times will be announced.
