Brevard Public Schools Extends Meals Distribution Through July For Local Families Affected by COVID-19

Children will receive four days’ worth of meals on June 30

Brevard Public Schools today announced it is extending its meal distribution efforts through July 31.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard Public Schools today announced it is extending its meal distribution efforts through July 31.

Food distribution locations and days will be changing as of July 1, and the district will be making accommodations for the holiday.

Please see schedule and updated locations below:

The following sites will continue to provide meals Monday-Friday through June 30 (from 10:30AM – 12:30PM):
– Atlantis
– Cambridge
– Cape View
– Coquina
– Discovery
– Golfview
– Harbor City
– Mila,
– Mims
– Oak Park
– Palm Bay Elementary
– Saturn
– Sherwood
– Turner
– University Park

NOTE: There will be NO MEAL SERVICE July 1-3.

Children will receive four days’ worth of meals on June 30.

Beginning Monday, July 6 through Friday, July 31, the following schools will provide food distribution on Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays only (from 10:30AM – 12:30PM):
– Mims Elementary (Mims)
– Cape View Elementary (Cape
Canaveral)
– Coquina Elementary (Titusville)
– Oak Park Elementary (Titusville)
– Mila Elementary (Merritt Island)
– Atlantis Elementary (Cocoa)
– Saturn Elementary (Cocoa)
– Golfview Elementary (Rockledge)
– Harbor City Elementary (Melbourne)
– Sherwood Elementary (Melbourne)
– Discovery Elementary (Palm Bay)
– Palm Bay Elementary (Palm Bay)
– Turner (Palm Bay)

“It has been an honor to provide nutritional continuity and lessen the food insecurity concerns for our Brevard families throughout our school closures and now through the month of July,” said Kevin Thornton, Director of Food and Nutrition Services, Brevard Public Schools.

“We are so very proud of our Food and Nutrition Services team for their tireless efforts during this crisis.”

Brevard Public Schools’ Food and Nutrition Services team has distributed more than 2 million meals to children ages 18 and younger across Brevard County during the pandemic-related school closures since March.
