Massive Drug Bust in Brevard County Nets 20 Arrests, Over 7-Pounds of Meth

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office culminated a multi-month investigation on Tuesday into the distribution of Methamphetamine, resulting in the confiscation of over 7.5-pounds of meth and 20 people arrested.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office culminated a multi-month investigation on Tuesday into the distribution of Methamphetamine, resulting in the confiscation of over 7.5-pounds of meth and 20 people arrested.

“Early this morning, Sheriff’s Agents with the Special Investigations Unit, Fugitive Unit and GameOver Task Force spread across Brevard County to arrest 20 members of a criminal organization responsible for distributing trafficking quantities of this dangerous drug,” said Brevard County Sheriff’s Office in a released statement.

Arrest warrants were issued for each of the suspects who have been identified throughout the course of the investigation as sources or distributors of Methamphetamine. These arrests are the culmination of a cooperative partnership between the Sheriff’s Office and the Brevard State Attorney’s Office.

Sheriff’s Agents conducted the investigation that focused on the organization that was involved in distributing the drugs throughout Brevard County.

The investigation began in December of 2019 when agents with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office identified upper level drug trafficker identified as Gary Mulane.

During the investigation, agents utilized various investigative techniques to identify the drug trafficking organization, which was distributing methamphetamine in Brevard County.

Agents were able to identify Gary Mulane’s criminal organization and sources of supply.

Kevin Charles Brown was identified as a source of the supply to the organization importing and distributing multi-pounds of methamphetamine into Brevard County.

Martin Cruz was also identified as a source of supply to the organization who was also importing multi-pounds of methamphetamine into Brevard.

During the investigation five search warrants were executed which led to the seizure of approximately 7.5 pounds of methamphetamine and $50,000 in US currently.

The suspects in the case are facing charges that range from Conspiracy and Trafficking in Methamphetamine to Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization (RICO). These charges bring penalties upon conviction of three to twenty-five years in prison.

These three individuals were identified as the main source and suppliers:

Gary Mullane, 52, Satellite Beach

The investigation determined that Mullane was the main distributor of methamphetamine within the organization.  He was involved in the purchase of drugs which were then sold by himself and/or others within the organization in the South Brevard County area.

The investigation determined that Brown was a main source of supply for Methamphetamine.  He was involved in the purchase of drugs which were then sold by others within the organization in the South Brevard County area.

The investigation determined that Cruz was a secondary source of supply for Methamphetamine.  He was involved in the purchase of drugs which were then sold by himself or others within the organization in the South Brevard County area.
