ORLANDO, FLORIDA – UCF Vice President and Director of Athletics Danny White was named among the top ADs in the nation on Tuesday, as Watch Stadium’s Brett McMurphy and Jeff Goodman ranked White fourth overall among all FBS athletic directors.

McMurphy and Goodman based their rankings of all 130 FBS athletic directors based on the success of the coaches they hired in football and men’s basketball, the difficulty of opponents in their conferences, bowl appearances, NCAA Tournament trips, conference titles, and national championships won.

White joined Oklahoma’s Joe Castiglione, Ohio State’s Gene Smith, Wisconsin’s Barry Alvarez, and Notre Dame’s Jack Swarbrick in the top five.

White has hired three full-time head football coaches in his time at both Buffalo and UCF and those coaches have gone on to hold a record of 72-43 with six bowl appearances, two conference titles, and a national championship.

The basketball side of things has been just as impressive, as the three head coaches hired by White for the Bulls and the Knights have a record of 221-111 with five NCAA Tournament trips and three conference titles.

Over the last three seasons, UCF is the only FBS program in the country to have every one of its head-to-head sports finish with a winning record every year (2017-18, 2018-19, 2019-20).
