BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Tropical Storm Isaias will arrive in Brevard about 2 p.m. today and continues to fight dry air and wind shear – and is now unlikely to regain hurricane intensity.

But the tropical storm will still bring heavy rainfall, gusty winds and storm surge flooding to parts of the East Coast.

Tropical Storm Warnings are in place for Brevard County and passing squalls will produce gusts up to 75 mph along the coast.

Travel on Space Coast barrier islands will become hazardous as winds increase and squalls move through.

The National Hurricane Center predicts Isaias will maintain its intensity as a strong tropical storm while passing Florida’s east coast through Monday and will make landfall Monday night or early Tuesday in South Carolina or southeast North Carolina.
