TUSCALOOSA, ALABAMA (AL.com) – Two down, one to go for Nick Saban.
As dawn broke in Tuscaloosa, ESPN’s Tom Rinaldi opened the College GameDay broadcast by reporting Saban’s Friday test for COVID-19 came back negative. That would be two negative tests since his Wednesday positive.
One more negative test on Saturday would clear him to coach Saturday evening against Georgia under SEC protocols. Rinaldi reported Saban already took the Saturday test and the results should be back by the afternoon. No. 2 Alabama plays No. 3 Georgia at 7 p.m. CT in Bryant-Denny Stadium.
The league standards state three negative tests in three consecutive days would negate a previous positive.
