By Space Coast Daily // October 28, 2020
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – A Brevard County Jury has indicted four people on Wednesday for Attempted Robbery and Murder for the death of Shawn McGraw in Cocoa Beach on November 12, 2019.
The people have been identified as:
– Lonnie T. Robinson, 24
– James B. Byer, 27
– Kaelea A. Wellington, 24
– Andrew Sheppard, 35
According to the State Attorney’s Office, Cocoa Beach Police found McGraw suffering from a gunshot wound in a room at the Fawlty Towers Motel on November 12.
McGraw later died at a local hospital. After his death, the medical examiner ruled McGraw’s death a homicide.
Wellington initially identified herself as a witness to an attempted robbery and shooting of McGraw by unknown individuals. However, after a months long investigation, authorities eventually identified her, Robinson, Byers and Sheppard as the people who committed McGraw’s murder.
Robinson, Byers and Wellington were arrested on October 15, 2020.
Sheppard was then arrested on October 23, 2020, where he is being held without bond.
The Grand Jury then heard testimony from a Brevard County Sheriff’s Office crime scene investigator, a Cocoa Beach Police Investigator, and three lay witnesses before returning the indictment.
Robinson, Byers, Wellington, and Sheppard are in custody at the Brevard County Jail with No Bond.
No trial date has been set in this case.
