BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – Drone racing pilots are gathering in Brevard County from all over the world that have been competing in global ‘Qualifier’ drone races in the 2020 MultiGP Drone Racing Global Series towards competing in the MultiGP Championship.

On Thursday, the contestants will be competing at Space Coast Daily Park in Viera to kick off the festivities for the 11-day 34th annual Space Coast State Fair.

After weeks of qualifying, the stage has been set for the global championship of the 2020 MultiGP Drone Racing Series, with the championship race set to be held Friday, November 6 at Viera High School’s Hawk Stadium.

This year, more than 700 pilots from hundreds of MultiGP Chapters worldwide have begun polishing their competitive drone racing skills.

The Global Qualifier races establish top-ranked pilots and granted an opportunity for them to compete for the coveted title of 2020 MultiGP Drone Racing Champion.

“The MultiGP Global Qualifier series is designed to provide the drone racing community an accessible yet highly competitive format that clearly develops pilot skills and then reveals the most skilled pilots in the country,” said Chris Thomas, Founder of MultiGP.

“The MultiGP Global Qualifier series is designed to provide the drone racing community an accessible yet highly competitive format that clearly develops pilot skills and then reveals the most skilled pilots in the country,” said Chris Thomas, Founder of MultiGP.

The 2020 MultiGP Championship is guaranteed to be filled with high-level competition and nonstop action.

The rise of drone racing over the last five years can be attributed to the volunteer-run local MultiGP Chapters. These organized groups are the key to drone racing’s increasing popularity and accessibility.

“The growth and success of our pilots and the MultiGP Chapters is our top priority, as it provides the foundation for our sport and pro-class championship series,” said Chris Thomas.

“MultiGP nurtures the drone racing community at the grassroots level by providing leadership in how races happen, software to support pilots and chapters, pilot rankings, racing tools and tools to build a community which transforms casual groups into racing MultiGP Chapters. MultiGP turns hobbyists into competitive pilots. Our efforts develop drone racing from the ground up, creating the competitive environment the sport needs to progress.”
