BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The victim who was found shot outside a parking lot of the Circles of Care in Melbourne has died, according to police Wednesday night.

The arrest of the suspect, and the investigation, has now turned into a homicide case.

The suspect has been identified 29-year-old Robert C. Quackenbush from Melbourne.

Quackenbush is now facing the charge of first-degree premeditated murder, according to Melbourne PD.

After further investigation, police say Quackenbush arrived at the facility intending to speak with the victim, Travis Knight.

Quackenbush previously received treatment at the facility and interacted with Knight, who was an employee at Circles of Care.

Knight met with Quackenbush outside of the building where they engaged in what appeared to be a mutually calm conversation.

The conversation lasted several minutes and Knight was observed walking away in a casual manner.
