Born into a military family, Bower spent much of his childhood traveling from air force base to air force base. He moved from Florida to Oklahoma to Hawaii, where he completed schooling through the second grade.

As his father, John, would work his way to Lt. Col. at Canon AFB, Sean made new stops in Virginia, Florida and New Mexico.

After his father’s retirement from the Air Force, Sean and his family returned to Florida, making their permanent home in Merritt Island.

Author Sean Bower of Merritt Island, above, talked with Steve Wilson about his newest book, “The Hybrid Order” on the latest episode of ‘Sit Down with Steve’ at the Space Coast Daily–Friday Night Locker Room Mike Erdman Automotive Studios.

Sean attended Merritt Island High School, proudly following in the footsteps of his brother and father by wearing the number 14 for the football team. While at Merritt Island High, he said he first considered making a living by the pen, thanks in large part to the encouragement and kindness of Ms. Burns.

After high school, Bower studied journalism at the University of Central Florida and would earn a bachelor of arts in communications, further pushing him into the world of literature.

Years would go by before Bowers would return to his old passion of writing stories. After digging up folders full of partially-completed stories that were only ever read by his sister, he finally began the first novel he would ever finish: The Hybrid Order.
