Eastern Florida State Basketball Secure Third Straight Victory After Defeating Polk State College 67-60

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College men’s basketball team continued to close in on the Central Conference title with a win over Polk State College on the road Wednesday night.

The Titans, who improved to 12-2 in the conference and 13-4 overall, defeated Polk State 67-60 for their third straight win.

After leading 6-2, Polk State went on a run to take the lead and increased it to as many as nine in the first half.

The Titans would trail by four at the half but came out of the lockerroom hitting shots and was up 10 in the first four minutes of the second half.

But Polk State. Would keep it close throughout the second half but a big Lovre Zaja 3-pointer with 5:09 remaining put the Titans up nine.

Zaja would get fouled shooting a 3-pointer with 30 seconds left and hit two of the three free throws to give the Titans a 65-57 lead. After a Polk State 3-pointer, Christyon Eugene would make a dunk to put the contest away.

Eugene finished with 16 points while Nick Alves had 14 and Robert Berze scored a season-high 12 points in the win.

The Titans will host Hillsborough Community College Saturday at 4:30 p.m. in a Central Conference game at Titan Field House. Fans are welcome but only 75 will be admitted and masks must be worn at all times on campus.
