BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida State College volleyball player Anaeli Perea was named to the all-tournament team following the FCSAA Volleyball State Tournament.

The sophomore libero had a career-high 35 digs against Daytona State College as the Titans picked up their first state tournament victory in over 15 seasons. Perea’s performance was the second-best in school history and put her in the state’s 25-dig club.

Overall the Anasco, Puerto Rico native averaged 23 digs in the three matches the Titans played in Jacksonville.

“Anaeli has been a player from day one, coming to the gym and working very hard every day,” Eastern Florida State College women’s volleyball coach Carmelo Eleutiza said.

“I am very proud of her being named to the all-tournament team because her work ethic is amazing and she wanted to improve every day that she came to practice and she played amazingly during the state tournament just like she has all season for our team.”

Perea, who had never played libero before becoming a Titan, finishes her two-year career with 461 digs and has played in 36 matches for the Titans.

“Coach made me a libero, I had never really played and had to learn everything,” Perea said during the state tournament.

Just two years later, Perea has been named to the second-team all-conference team and made the state all-tournament team.
