BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Anna Jo Gullikson, a senior at Titusville High School, seems to do it all. She is a multi-sport high school athlete, is dual enrolled at Eastern Florida State College, and, oh yeah, she carries a 4.0 unweighted GPA and a 4.43 weighted GPA.

Gullikson is the definition of a student/athlete. She is a member of the Latin Club/Honor Society and National Honor Society. Gullikson is also a member of Best Buddies.

According to the website bestbuddies.org, the organization is a “student-run friendship club which creates buddy pairs between students with and without disabilities.”

Gullikson beams when she talks about her four years in Best Buddies. She calls it a “wonderful club, where we get to hang out with and develop relationships with our peers that might have special needs in our school.”

She goes on to say that it has been a “great experience” to be involved with Best Buddies.

For the fourth consecutive year, Gullikson has been a part of the Terriers swim team and her specialty is the 100-yard breaststroke.

High praise comes from her swim coach, Natasha “Coach Tasha” Kremer. When talking about Gullikson, she said, “As a coach, you get lucky sometimes and have an exceptional person come through your program who makes the program better by being a part of it. Anna Jo is one of those kids.”

Kremer went on to say that Gullikson has “impacted so many others through her kindness and caring as a person, and her dedication to excellence as an athlete.”

Gullikson is currently on the tennis team. She admits that she is the “newbie” on the team. When asked about playing high school tennis for the first time, she says it is “really fun this year and I am happy I decided to do it.”

There does not appear to be anything that Anna Jo Gullikson can’t do. She continues to make a difference wherever she goes and whatever she does.
