Retired Palm Bay Chief of Police Bob Rossman Passes Away, Was a Lifelong Public Servant

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The Palm Bay Police Department announced the death of former Palm Bay Police Chief Bob Rossman in a social media post on Saturday.

Rossman served the City of Palm Bay as police chief from 1988 through 1994. He was from the Miami area and served at the Metro-Dade Police Department for 30 years prior to moving to taking over as police chief in Palm Bay.

Once retired from the Palm Bay Police Department, Chief Rossman continued to call Palm Bay home and remained active in the community and police department events.

“Chief Rossman was a lifelong public servant, and we are grateful for his leadership and his contributions to our organization,” said current Palm Bay Police Chief Nelson Moya.

“Everyone at the Palm Bay Police Department extends our condolences to Chief Rossman’s wife, Margaret, and the entire Rossman family.

Funeral announcements will be shared once they become available.
