Teammates: 'I think he's going to have a huge year'

(24/7 Sports) – One of Auburn’s biggest position questions of the offseason may have already been answered — and it’s a player the Tigers have been excited about to see in a full-time role on defense since last season.

Ladarius Tennison appears to be Auburn’s answer at the moment, as he rarely rotated out of the starting defense at safety during Saturday’s practice.

Tennison, a rising sophomore, was a nickel last season and even started Auburn’s last two-and-a-half games at the position, but mentioned this offseason he would be training to play safety. Sure enough, he was listed as a safety on the official spring roster last week.

“I think one person in particular that y’all are going to see a lot of this year is Ladarius Tennison,” Pappoe said. “He’s been working really hard this offseason. I think he’s going to have a huge year. A lot of people are going to know his name after this season.”

“Man, he’s a hard worker,” Tutt said of Tennison. “That’s one guy — he does everything coach asks him to do, full speed, 100%. He came in when I got hurt, came in and did a great job. That’s a lot to ask from a true freshman coming in and playing that slot corner. He’s got a great skill set. Smoke — he’s got great leaders around him to lead him. So he’s going to be good.”
