A 31-year-old woman from Orlando died early Saturday morning after a vehicle crash on I-95 near Rockledge during the overnight hours.

BREVARD COUNTY • ROCKLEDGE, FLORIDA – A 31-year-old woman from Orlando died early Saturday morning after a vehicle crash on I-95 near Rockledge during the overnight hours.

Investigators say the van she was driving was traveling southbound on I-95 around 3 a.m., approaching mile marker 194 just after the Rockledge exit.

For an unknown reason, the van swerved off the roadway and struck multiple trees. The woman exited the van under her own power and proceeded to run across the southbound lanes of I-95 and was struck by the front of Chevy Tahoe traveling in the inside lane on I-95.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Chevy Tahoe is identified as a 27-year-old woman. She was not injured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
