BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – With only a few days to go until Brevard County’s biggest charity fundraiser of the year, the 2021 ‘Dancing for the Space Coast’ dancers are beginning to finalize in on their dance routines as the event approaches on Saturday, June 5, at the old Stein Mart in Melbourne.

One of the competitors in this year’s event is Lori Shepherd.

Lori is a Florida native, originally from Miami, having made the move to Titusville in 2003 when the American Police Hall of Fame relocated to Brevard County. She is the Program Director for the Police Family Survivor’s Program at the American Police Hall of Fame and although she has not personally served in the law enforcement field, she is proud to have been adopted into the Thin Blue Line Family.

For the past 15 years she has worked to bring honor and recognition to those officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty and considers it a great privilege to serve their families. She currently serves on the board for the American Federation of Police & Concerned Citizens and the National Association of Chiefs of Police.

Her background is in early childhood education and worked several years as a pre-school and summer camp director prior to having her own children.

On June 8, she’ll be celebrating 30 wonderful years with her husband and best friend Barry. She is the proud momma of 4 children and grandma to 5. She was fortunate enough to enjoy 10 years as a stay-at-home mom, giving her the opportunity to engage in school activities and volunteer on a weekly basis.

She is a member of First Christian Church of Titusville and serves as the Bells of Praise Handbell Choir Director.

She is also a member of “A Girl and A Gun” North Brevard Chapter and enjoys every opportunity to participate in Defensive Shooting Courses and has recently discovered shooting steel. She is a proud NRA Member and a certified Range Safety Officer.
