BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The Palm Bay Pirates’ new head coach Jake Owens and his players talked about their upcoming spring game on Friday when the Pirates visit the Titusville Terriers.

Below is the 2021 Brevard County High School spring football action schedule, which includes games and scrimmages. You can watch all the action live on Space Coast Daily TV.

Thursday, May 20:

■ Cocoa Beach vs. Spruce Creek, 7 p.m.

Friday, May 21 :

■  Melbourne vs. Astrounaut, 7 p.m.
■ Palm Bay vs. Titusville, 5:30 p.m.
■ Eau Gallie at Vero, 7 p.m.
■ Rockledge vs. Spruce Creek, 7 p.m.
■ Bayside at Viera, 7 p.m.

“I’m excited to get to work with our Palm Bay student-athletes and coaches and begin the process to success for Pirate Football. Let the grind begin,” said Owens.

Owens has been teaching at the South Lake Elementary in Titusville, and last year, he worked on the Merritt Island football coaching staff under Mustang head coach Hurlie Brown.

During his tenure as Space Coast head coach, their best season featured a 7-4 overall record in 2013, including a second playoff appearance in program history. Owens resigned as the Space Coast head coach in 2017 to take some time from coaching but returned in 2020 to coach at Merritt Island as an assistant

Owens took over for Dwayne Byrd who resigned as the Palm Bay head coach last December to spend more time with family.
