West Melbourne Woman Dies After Vehicle Crash in Melbourne Over the Weekend

A 64-year-old woman from West Melbourne has died after a vehicle crash she was involved in Sunday morning near North Harbor City Boulevard and Magnolia Avenue.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – A 64-year-old woman from West Melbourne has died after a vehicle crash she was involved in Sunday morning near North Harbor City Boulevard and Magnolia Avenue.

Police identified the woman as Janice Marie Jones, 64, from West Melbourne.

The investigation shows that officers responded to a call about a two-vehicle crash near the area of North Harbor City Boulevard and Magnolia Avenue where they discovered sustained life-threatening injuries.

After being transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center, the victim later died from those injuries.

The investigation also shows the crash happened around 11:29 a.m. ET when one of the vehicle drivers entered North Harbor City Boulevard from a parking lot entrance/exit into the path of the other vehicle traveling southbound on North Harbor City Boulevard.

Jones has been identified as a passenger inside one of the vehicles.

The other two people involved in the crash as 78-year-old Kay Marie Burnette from Melbourne, and the second driver has been identified as 60-year-old Lloyd Buford Hiers from Melbourne.

Police say it appears alcohol or drugs were not a factor in this crash.

The crash is under investigation by Melbourne Police.
