BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – Cocoa Beach Police arrested two suspects on Friday for a hit-and-run crash that occurred on N. Atlantic Ave. (A1A) at Esther Dr.

The suspects are identified as Joshua Boyle, 37, of Orlando, and Aliesha Knight, 30, of Christmas, who were taken into custody by police Friday afternoon around 1 p.m. for the hit-and-run crash.

Cocoa Beach Police was notified of a vehicle that just crashed into two other vehicles and attempted to flee west on Esther Dr., a dead-end.

Moments later, the suspect vehicle, allegedly driven by Boyle, sped back toward N. Atlantic Ave. where several pedestrians were nearby, and fled southbound before turning onto Cocoa Isles Blvd. Boyle ultimately ran from the vehicle at Nassau Rd., leaving passenger Knight behind.

A local witness observed the commotion and kept “eyes” on Boyle until responding officers could safely take him into custody without further incident. Knight was also arrested for an outstanding felony warrant.

Boyle was charged with Felony Driving While License Suspended-Habitual Traffic Offender, Unregistered Motor Vehicle, and Leaving the Scene of a Crash with Property Damage. Boyle and Knight were transported to the county jail.
