Eastern Florida State Women’s Soccer Squares Off With Salt Lake CC in National Championship Tournament Semifinal

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College women’s soccer team will face Salt Lake Community College in the NJCAA Division I National Championship Tournament semifinals Monday night in Evans, Georgia.

The Titans are making their fourth straight appearance in the national tournament semifinals after scoring 13 times in two games to win Pool C.

The duo of Paula Garrido and Courtney Jade Butlion have each scored three times to lead a balanced Titans scoring attack.

Salt Lake Community College comes into its first-ever semifinals leading the nation in goals per game, averaging 6.06 goals and averages 29.5 shots per game. The Bruins won Pool B in penalty kicks and have three players with two goals apiece.

Defensively, all four of the semifinals teams rank in the top five in goals against average with EFSC ranked second at 0.30 and Salt Lake fourth at 0.44.

The Titans and the Bruins are the second and third teams in both the tournament and national rankings as EFSC is 10-0-1 and Salt Lake CC is 14-1-1.

The first semifinal will be between No. 1 Tyler Junior College and No. 4 seed Snow College at 5 p.m. with the Titans and Bruins scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.

The championship game will be Tuesday night at 7 p.m.

Both games will be at the stadium field at Blanchard Woods Park in Evans, Georgia.
