Michael Gorycki of Titusville Found Guilty in Federal Court, Faces Life in Prison for Attempt to Have Sex With Minor

Convicted on Federal Charges of attempting to entice minor to engage in sexual activity

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Recently, 50-year-old Michael Gorycki of Titusville was found guilty in Federal Court on charges of attempting to entice a minor to engage in sexual activity.

Gorycki was originally arrested pursuant to an investigation that began in August of 2020 when Gorycki met an Agent of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office SORT Unit on a social networking website.

Our Agent at the time was acting in an undercover capacity as the father of a 13-year-old girl and during the online conversation, Gorycki expressed an interest in meeting the father in order to gain access to and sexually assault the fictitious minor.

During the conduct of the investigation, Gorycki expressed in detail his intention to rape the child and teach her to perform a specific sexual act, all while talking to what he believed was the father of a 13-year-old child.

Gorycki actually furthered the act when he traveled to meet the father at a prearranged meeting place in Brevard County so that he could have sex with the fictitious 13-year-old child.

Gorycki was immediately taken into custody by Agents working the case and was subsequently charged on Federal Charges for attempting to entice a minor to engage in sexual activity.

As a result of the investigation, Gorycki was found guilty in Federal Court and now faces a maximum penalty of Life in Federal Prison for his actions. Gorycki’s sentencing hearing is scheduled for August 12, 2021, in Orlando when hopefully his sentence will ensure that he is never free again to prey upon another child
