65-Year-Old Indialantic Woman Dies in Vehicle Crash with Truck on US-1 in Melbourne

A 65-year-old woman from Indialantic has died on Wednesday after a vehicle crash with a truck on US-1 near Pineda Causeway.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – A 65-year-old woman from Indialantic has died on Wednesday after a vehicle crash with a truck on US-1 near Pineda Causeway.

Authorities responded to the scene around 9:10 a.m. about a report of a vehicle that struck truck on northbound US-1.

When rescue personnel arrived on scene, the Indialantic woman was rushed to a nearby hospital where she later died from her injuries.

The preliminary investigation reveals the Indialantic woman was traveling westbound on Pineda Causeway in her Toyota SUV when she lost control while on the exit ramp towards US-1. After losing control of her vehicle for an unknown reason, her vehicle traveled over the grass and into the northbound lanes on US-1.

When her vehicle entered US-1, a semi truck struck the passenger side of her vehicle.

The truck driver suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash and is identified as a 49-year-old man from Palm Bay.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
