BREVARD COUNTY • MERRIT ISLAND, FLORIDA – What an amazing “First Responders Appreciation BBQ” event that took place yesterday at Kiwanis Island Park in Merritt Island where hundreds of our citizens turned out to show just how much they truly love their First Responders and Military Heroes.

I would like to personally thank the organizers of the event for working so hard to make the event such a success and also the many businesses that sponsored the event as a show of support for the men and women who stand guard at the door each and every day to keep evil away.

While Junny and I had a blast in the “Beat The Bucket” dunk tank, it was also great to see hundreds of our citizens enjoying great food, great music, and standing together as a community to say “we love our protectors!!”

I would like to personally thank Jenn Parrish, Kim Tucker, Tina Herman, Stephanie Moretto and Sherri Centore for organizing this incredible event for our agencies and community.

As I always say “It Takes A Community To Protect A Community” and today’s event was just another perfect example of our community working together to support our Law Enforcement, Fire Fighters, EMS & Dispatch, and of course military heroes.

Thank you Brevard County for making this the best place in America to serve as a first responder!
