(24/7sports.com) – In Auburn’s deep and talented 2021 secondary, there are bound to be a found names with lesser roles in the primary rotation when things are said and done.

New cornerbacks coach Zac Etheridge doesn’t expect a certain hard-hitting sophomore to be on the sidelines, though.

An intriguing storyline for Derek Mason’s defense in fall camp will be the positioning of Ladarius Tennison, a versatile defensive back who started two games at nickel cornerback for the Tigers last season after an injury to Christian Tutt.

But when spring practices rolled around, Tennison slid back to a true safety position, starting alongside Smoke Monday on the back end of the defense.

“I love Ladarius as a football player,” Etheridge said last week prior to an AU alumni meeting in Atlanta. “I truly think with him being a young guy — has a little experience — the future is bright for him. I think we can use him in a lot of different places.”
