BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Cocoa High School football and basketball player Eumari Dixon helped save an elderly Rockledge man’s life on Wednesday.

According to Rockledge Police Department Officer Dontavius Wilcox, an elderly resident of Rockledge had a medical emergency while driving his vehicle, which cause him to have a minor car accident.

Instead of driving by, Dixon noticed that the elderly man was suffering and stopped everything he was doing to assist him.

“It was a crazy experience,” said Dixon.

“Everything just happened so fast I just had to think fast and react, and it always feels good to help the community.”

When Dixon realized that the man was in a tragic state he waved Rockledge Police Officer Wilcox down.

Dixon and his family assisted the Rockledge Police Department until Fire Rescue arrived to the scene.

“Due to this young man’s swift actions the elderly man got the help he needed and is now doing fine. Had he not acted when he did the incident would have been a lot worse,” said Wilcox.
