Mayor Paul Alfrey Assists Brevard Alzheimer’s Foundation Deliver One-Millionth Meal to Homebound Seniors

Today is a huge day for the Brevard Alzheimer’s Foundation as Melbourne Mayor Paul Alfrey, far left, assisted with the delivery of the one-millionth meal to homebound seniors in partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank, Florida Department of Transportation and the Department of Elder Affairs.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Today is a huge day for the Brevard Alzheimer’s Foundation as Melbourne Mayor Paul Alfrey assisted with the delivery of the one-millionth meal to homebound seniors in partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank, Florida Department of Transportation and the Department of Elder Affairs.

“This program started at the beginning of the pandemic and has morphed and grown over the last year and today we’ve hit an unbelievable milestone,” said Brevard Alzheimer’s Foundation organizers.

“Please help us thank the mayor, all of our partners, and staff that have made this amazing accomplishment possible!”

The Brevard Alzheimer’s Foundation is a Florida public non-profit supporting direct services in its facilities, in your home and on the road.

Caregivers are equally important to the foundation and the organization has weekly support groups and one of the best education departments in the state.

The Brevard Alzheimer’s Foundation is also the home to the nationally renowned Joe’s Club.

Three facilities serve more than 100 clients a day in a safe, secure, stable environment. Clients from all walks of life spend the day with us for a planned day of fun, food, fitness and friendship.
