BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Ronnie Ahern of Eau Gallie High School was nominated for the Brevard Public Schools’ Heart of Brevard by Richard Larson, Guidance Counselor at Eau Gallie.

In a tribute to Ahern, Larson said:

I have been in awe of Ronnie Ahern for years, and the reason is simple. She is the epitome of grace, including grace under fire.

Ronnie works as our front desk receptionist here at Eau Gallie High School. The job alone requires an immense skill set – communication skills, organizational skills, and especially people skills.

It is the combination of her skill, along with her demeanor, that has garnered my deep respect for Ronnie. She is so kind, patient, soft-spoken, polite, and gracious when greeting visitors of any age, whether parents bringing along young children, Eau Gallie students, guardians, or professionals from the community or school board.

Ronnie’s skill and grace are especially evident during those rare occasions where the guest is upset about something. I have witnessed Ronnie interact with even the most distraught of individuals with poise, tact, and kindness that many people would have trouble summoning in emotional situations! In addition to these attributes, Ronnie exhibits an outstanding sense of humor.

I know that my blood pressure always seems to be reduced as I walk into the front office area that is Ronnie’s domain, and I know others here have the same experience as her. It is, for this reason, I would like her to be acknowledged as one who exemplifies the Heart of Brevard Public Schools.
