BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College men’s soccer team will open the new season this week with a pair of big games in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The men’s soccer team is back after taking a season off due to COVID and will open the regular season Thursday against Snow College at at Zion Bank Stadium in Herriman, Utah.

The Badgers made it to the NJCAA Division I National Tournament last season with a 10-4-1 record, falling in pool play and come into this season No. 9 in the NJCAA Division I preseason poll.

Then on Saturday, the Titans will play the defending NJCAA Division I National Champion Salt Lake Community College who is No. 1 in the NJCAA Division I preseason poll. Salt Lake CC defeated Iowa Western in overtime to clinch the title, wrapping up a 16-1-1 record.

“I am very excited to visit an area I have never been to before nor has most of our team. Trips like this early are great opportunities to bond as a team,” Eastern Florida State College men’s soccer coach Jeff Carr said.

“Both teams are top shelf and of course Salt Lake is the reigning national champion, so we will have our hands full in both games with a lot of talented players, and both teams are coached by tremendous coaches.”

The men’s team has been working their way into shape and has performed well in the preseason scrimmages to prepare for the upcoming season.

“I am really excited about our team so far. It is a very competitive group that is starting to bond like a family,” Carr said. “We have a lot of talented players on this team battling for playing time this year.”
