BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – The Merritt Island Mustangs will host Sebastian River Sharks in a Week 2 matchup on Space Coast Daily TV, presented by Erdman Automotive.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
Merritt Island enters tonight’s contest after recording six takeaways in their 19-6 win over the Melbourne Bulldogs last week. The Mustangs are led by QB Brady Denaburg who is hoping to rebound from last week’s performance after throwing three interceptions and missing two field goals.
Defensively, this Merritt Island squad is stout in the front seven. Senior linebacker Maddox Moss will be a key contributor this year and had a marvelous game last week against Melbourne after recording a fumble recovery, interception and a couple tackles-for-loss.
If Merritt Island wins tonight, the Mustangs would move to 2-0 before they go on the road for the next three out of four weeks beginning with next week’s visit to Astronaut.
Tonight’s game will be Sebastian River’s first game of the regular season.
