BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – The Code Enforcement Division announces the addition of a new code enforcement officer. Julian Briggs began his duties on December 17.

He brings the division to full staffing with a total of three code enforcement officers, a coordinator and division manager.

Briggs is originally from Columbus Ohio. After spending some time in Schweinfurt, Germany, Briggs moved to Brevard County in June 2016, with his wife and two daughters.

Briggs holds an associate degree in homeland security and is currently pursuing a master’s degree.

He served 22 years in the United States Army Military Police Corp. During his military service, he gained experience as a military housing code enforcement officer.

“I am happy to become a contributing partner in the City of Cocoa,” Briggs said.

“I believe with diligent code enforcement we can improve the appearance and quality of life for the residents here.”

When Briggs is not working he enjoys fishing and “fishing again.”

The mission of the Code Enforcement Division is to preserve property values and remove blight throughout the city. Code Enforcement officers enforce the City’s Code of Ordinances.
