BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Officers from the Palm Bay Police Department and community members will come together for ‘Coffee with a Cop’ event on January 25 at the American Legion Lodge to discuss community issues, build relationships and drink coffee.

Coffee with a Cop is a national initiative supported by The United States Department of Justice’s Office of Community Oriented Policing Services.

“The majority of the contact law enforcement has with the public happens during emergencies, or emotional situations,” said Police Chief Jim Rogers.

“Coffee with a Cop provides a unique opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn more about the officers who work in their neighborhood every day.”

Similar events are held across the county, as local police departments strive to make lasting connections with the communities they serve.
