Two Florida Men Arrested For Using Fraudulent Credit Cards To Steal Hundreds of Gallons of Fuel

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 28-year-old, Osmail Perez of Tampa and 22-year-old Luis Galup of Orlando for using fraudulent credit cards to steal hundreds of gallons of fuel.

The arrest occurred after Agents Justin Wood and Megan Lane of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Economic Crimes Task Force observed the pair in separate vehicles, pumping a large amount of fuel at two different gas stations.

Once the vehicles and drivers were detained it was discovered each of the vehicles contained unlawful fuel bladders that were concealed in the vehicles.

Perez was driving a Ford F-250 truck carrying a fuel bladder that contained approximately three hundred gallons of gas. He was also found to be in possession of twenty-seven fraudulent credit and rewards cards.

Galup was driving a Dodge Sprinter van equipped with a fuel bladder containing approximately two hundred gallons of diesel fuel. He was also in possession of fraudulent gift cards.

Both suspects were transported to the Brevard County Jail where they were charged with Unlawful Conveyance of Fuel. Perez is being held on $3,000 bond and Galup, who was also charged with resisting arrest without violence on a $3,500 bond.

The investigation is ongoing with additional charges pending for the possession and criminal use of another person’s personal information.
