SPEAKER MIKE BOYD EXPERT IN FUTURIST AVIATION

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Orlando Melbourne International Airport invites travel partners, Space Coast area businesses and members of the community to its Air Service Development Public Workshop set for 6 p.m. on Wednesday, February 27 at the Hilton Rialto, located at 200 Rialto Place.
“Help Orlando Melbourne International Airport achieve even greater air service in the future by attending this special workshop featuring national airline expert Mike Boyd,” said Orlando Melbourne International Airport spokesperson Lori Booker.
Orlando Melbourne International Airport Executive Director Greg Donovan will also be a featured speaker.
Donovan is responsible for overseeing the authority’s $68.4 million operating and capital budget, and operation of the 2,500-acre airport.

BOYD EXPERT IN FUTURIST AVIATION
Boyd is involved in direction of strategic planning including expanding the global footprint of the firm’s consulting and forecasting activities.
Boyd is well known as an expert in futurist aviation issues and is often called upon by the national media to provide input regarding events and trends affecting airlines, airports, and aircraft manufacturers.
He has directed hundreds of projects for clients ranging from small airports to global companies such as General Electric, Delta Air Lines, American Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Continental Airlines, Aerostructures, and Embraer Aircraft.
Boyd started his career with American Airlines in 1971. He joined Braniff International in 1977, attaining the position of Regional Director, and was responsible for opening the carrier’s Far Eastern operations.
In 1982 he moved to Bar Harbor Airlines as Vice President of Marketing and Planning. In 1984, he co-founded what is today Boyd Group International.
Coming from an airline family, Boyd grew up living at points across the country, and attended high school in Taiwan. Mike holds a degree in Social Science from Michigan State University, with a minor in Chinese language.
Donovan, who was selected Space Coast Daily Person of the Year in 2018, has been a major driver in making the Orlando Melbourne International Airport a thriving hub for aviation, aerospace and high-technology business as the airport’s infrastructure and engineering-oriented workforce have attracted businesses that contribute billions of dollars of economic impact to the Space Coast.
