BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – On April 6, a group of Titusville leaders with the Sunrise Rotary Club will host a country concert with headliner Nashville Star Ray Scott and local artist Robbin The Bank.

The concert will be set up “Old Florida Style” under the tent at Shuler & Shuler Auctioneers located at 420 Julia Street in Titusville.

The purpose of the event is to raise funds to support a much-needed Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida, Titusville location.

“During the event, guests will have the opportunity to be sent back to the time of old, with country cooking and good old fashion foot stomping,” said event organizer Jo Lynn Nelsen, retired Chief Attorney for Juvenile Justice.

“Dust off those cowboy boots and join us!”

For over 75 years, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida has provided the at-risk youth in surrounding communities with a positive environment, caring adult role models and the opportunity to realize their full potential and become productive citizens.

“We have been raising funds for nearly two years now and are in the agreement stages of our contract for the use of a facility,” said Nelson.

“Consistently rated four stars on the Charity Navigator, the Boys & Girls Clubs remain fiscally responsible in providing the much-needed programming for our underprivileged youth in Brevard County.”

We are looking for the support of the community through sponsorship, tickets purchase or contribution of an item that can be used for prizes.

“After personally witnessing the increasing rate of drug abuse in our local hospital and medical offices we decided to join hands with our longtime friend Jo Lynn Nelson to begin a fundraiser to establish the first Boys and Girls Club of Titusville,” said Dr. Frank and Marilyn Dienst of Medical Services LLC.

“The club will provide a stable environment offering challenging after school activities, mentorship and guidance to excel their minds, bodies and souls and keep our youth off the streets away from drug abuse and crime.”

Nelsen said that she has taken notice of the increasing rate of juvenile crime.

“With an organization like the Boys & Girls Club, I believe we can change that,” said Nelsen. “Their programs are a more cost effective and practical way to invest in our children’s futures.”

Titusville resident, child advocate and community activist Els van Engelenburg said a Club in Titusville is much needed.

“Our hope is to generate enough interest and obtain the funding to forward our efforts to open a Titusville Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida,” said van Engelenburg.
