SPACE COAST DAILY TV: The 9th Annual Space Coast vs. Treasure Coast Senior All-Star Classic from Eastern Florida State College is set Saturday, and both the girls and boys game will be broadcast live on Space Coast Daily TV. The Friday Night Locker Room team of Orville Susong and Steve Wilson will be on the call for both games.

Girls’ Game Tips Off at 4:30 p.m. • Boy’s Game Begins at 7 p.m.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – East Coast United is once again showcasing the top girls and boys high school basketball players in east central Florida. 

The 9th Annual Space Coast vs. Treasure Coast Senior All-Star Classic from Florida Prep is set Saturday, and both the girls and boys game will be broadcast live on Space Coast Daily TV.

The Friday Night Locker Room team of Orville Susong and Steve Wilson will be on the call for both games.

Tickets to the games are available at the door. The cost is $10 for middle school kids to adults, $5 for elementary school children and preschoolers are free.

Some of the best talent in the entire state will represent the Space Coast as a total of nine Space Coast Daily-Friday Night Locker Room first or second team All-Star team players will hit the court in Melbourne.

This includes Jayla Johnson from Florida Prep and Max Fiedler of the Melbourne Bulldogs, both of whom were selected by the Space Coast Daily-Friday Night Locker Room committee as girls and boys players of the year in the county.

The senior girls’ game tips off at 4:30 p.m. and the team is led by Florida Prep’s EJ Murray, this year’s Space Coast Daily–Friday Night Locker Room girls Coach of the Year.

Murray is coming off quite a season as he led the Falcons to the Class 2A State Title, capturing the ninth girls’ basketball crown for Brevard County – and first girls title for Florida Prep.

Murray brings with him to this contest the above mentioned 2019 Space Coast Daily and Friday Night Locker Room girls Player of the Year, Jayla Johnson.

Johnson was the lone senior on Murray’s state title squad as she was named the FACA District 12 Player of the year.

There are five other players that were first or second team Space Coast Daily–Friday Night Locker Room All-Stars.

Melbourne Central Catholic has four players on the team, while the Astronaut War Eagles will send three players.

Representing the Hustlers are Marchella Bodi, Yeleina Lind, Angie Marin and Olivia De La Nuez. Astronaut players include Akiyonna  Joiner, Dazia Moses and Cynthia Leib will play in the game.

Joiner, Moses and Marin were all first-team selections to the Space Coast Daily–Friday Night Locker Room All-Stars teams.

Space Coast Sports Hall of Famer, former Cocoa and Florida Tech standout and the head boys basketball coach at Florida Prep Julius Reid will lead the senior squad. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.

Reid’s roster is loaded. Aside from having the Player of the Year in Max Fiedler, Reid will have the Comeback Player of the year at his disposal in Rockledge’s Ramsey Robison.

Fiedler averaged a double-double this season with 21-points and 14 rebounds per game. Joining him from Melbourne will be Chris Roth (14.6 PPG) who was also named a first-team All-Star this past season.

Rockledge has the most players on this year’s senior squad.

First team All-Star D.J. Richardson, as well as TJ Jordan, join their Comeback Player of the Year teammate, Ramsey Robinson. The trio represents a Raiders program that finished 21-6 under head coach Logan Keith.

Other first and second team All-Stars include Tre Smith (Florida Prep), and Brody Boyer from Bayside.

The boys game will feature a slam dunk contest at halftime while the girls will display their skills from beyond the arc in a 3-point shooting competition.

The East Coast United

Established as a girls basketball program in 2007, the East Coast United have made a positive impact on youth in the state of Florida and in our local community of Brevard County since its inception.

The primary goal is to provide an educational and national-level competitive basketball program that focuses on learning, fundamentals, leadership, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

The East Coast United organization includes teams for girls and boys ages 8 – 18. Each season teams are selected based on an open try-out; therefore all potential candidates are invited.
