POLICE: Loren Powell of Titusville Charged with Armed Robbery of Sunoco Gas Station on Sisson Road

Police in Titusville have arrested a man they say is a suspect in an armed robbery at a Sunoco gas station on the 6000 block of Sisson Road on Wednesday afternoon.

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Police in Titusville have arrested a man they say is a suspect in an armed robbery at a Sunoco gas station on the 6000 block of Sisson Road on Wednesday afternoon.

Loren Taylor Powell, 25, of Titusville has been charged with two counts of grand theft and one count each of armed robbery, aggravated assault with a firearm and armed occupied burglary stemming from the Wednesday incident and another alleged occupied burglary and grand theft on June 8.

Titusville police say they responded to a report of the incident at around 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon.

They say that the male suspect approached a victim, pointed a gun at them and demanded they give up their cellular phone.

Subsequently, the suspect left the scene in a black Nissan cube with the phone. The suspect was taken into custody roughly a half-hour later at a residence on the 5800 block of Dexter Court in Titusville without incident.

Police also say that they have been able to connect the suspect with an occupied burglary and grand theft after speaking with him.

The suspect is currently being held in the Brevard County Jail without bond.
