COAST GUARD: 'Day Boat Too' captain Russell Minor was swept overboard

The Coast Guard is continuing to search Tuesday for missing fisherman Russell Minor 300 miles east of Cape Canaveral. On Sunday, Coast Guard 7th District Command Center watchstanders received a report from the “Day Boat Too,” a 46-foot fishing vessel, stating Minor went overboard.

BREVARD COUNTY • CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA — The Coast Guard is continuing to search Tuesday for missing fisherman Russell Minor 300 miles east of Cape Canaveral.

On Sunday, Coast Guard 7th District Command Center watchstanders received a report from the “Day Boat Too,” a 46-foot fishing vessel, stating Minor went overboard.

Coast Guard crews have searched approximately 4,600 square miles.

A Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater HC-130 Hercules aircraft crew launched and commenced searching after dropping a self-locating datum marker buoy when they arrived on the scene.

According to the Coast Guard, assets involved in the search are:

• Air Station Clearwater aircrews
• Air Station Elizabeth City aircrews
• Air Station Miami aircrews
• Cutter Dependable crew
• Cutter William Flores crew

At 2:57 a.m. Sunday, Coast Guard 7th District Command Center watchstanders received a report from the “Day Boat Too,” a 46-foot fishing vessel, stating the captain, a 30-year-old man, went overboard. The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Dependable is assisting in the search.
