Airboat Crash Near Lone Cabbage Fish Camp Injures Three on Tuesday Afternoon

The injuries are described as minor by Brevard County Fire Rescue Chief Mark Schollmeyer

Three people were transported to a local hospital with what Brevard County Fire Rescue Chief Mark Schollmeyer described as “minor injuries” following an airboat crash near Lone Cabbage Fish Camp on Tuesday afternoon. BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Three people were transported to a local hospital with what Brevard County Fire Rescue Chief Mark Schollmeyer described as “minor injuries” following an airboat crash near Lone Cabbage Fish Camp on Tuesday afternoon. 

According to U.S. Coast Guard public affairs representative Tommy Brabson, the Cocoa Beach-based commercial airboat had 13 passengers on board.

Brabson added that the vessel had steering issues that caused it to run aground.

Schollmeyer said that Brevard County Fire Rescue personnel responded with two ambulances and one other unit to the incident.
