As one of the most active entertainment, sports industry and media professionals on the Space Coast, Giles Malone has left an indelible mark on Central Florida during his 26 year career.
After graduating from The University of Louisiana with a degree in Finance in 1985, Giles attended Florida Tech in Melbourne where he received his M.B.A in 1986.
While at Florida Tech, Giles taught economics and accounting and also helped coach the Panthers to two NCAA National Soccer Championships.
After receiving his M.B A, Giles became President and GM of the Cocoa Beach Pier and has since developed the Pier property into one of the leading oceanfront landmarks in central Florida.
Through his keen interest, enthusiasm and expertise in sports, Giles has also helped Brevard County become a national leader in youth soccer and spring training for College and high school teams. In 1996, along with his partner Rick Stottler, Giles founded the first professional soccer franchise in Brevard County, taking their team to the National Championship in 1997. In 2002, Giles was inducted into the United Soccer Leagues Hall Of Fame being recognized as one of the main builders of the game in the region.
As a founding member of the Space Coast Sports Commission in 1987, Giles has had a profound effect on the business of sports tourism on the Space Coast.
As co-founder and partner of independent publishing house - Maverick Multimedia Inc., Giles has worked with Tom and Jim Palermo to create and produce high quality community publications like Space Coast Medicine magazine, Central Florida Medicine magazine, Space Coast Sports Magazine, CentralFloridaMedicine.com and SpaceCoastDaily.com.
As co-founder of Brevard Production Inc. with Tom Palermo, their organization owns and produces some of the most significant annual special events in central Florida like the Space Coast State Fair, Cocoa Beach Spring Training, the Space Coast Seafood Festival, the Space Coast Oktoberfest, Space Coast Home Shows, Space Coast Health Fair and many more.
While volunteering for numerous organisations within his community for 26 years , Giles has served as Chairman of the Space Coast Tourism Development Council, as President of the Space Coast Sports Commission, Board Member of the Brevard County Environmentally Endangered Lands Committee, Board Member of the Beaches and Shores Beach Preservation Society, Board Member of the Board of Trustees of the Florida Tech Business School, Chairman of the Brevard County Fair, Founding member of the Space Coast Sports Hall Of Fame and as a Board Member of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Florida. .
