BPN STAR PHYSICIAN

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Growing up in rugged Myanmar in Asia, Dr. Kyaw Thu witnessed plenty of suffering and hardship in one of the poorest countries on earth. Blessed with a bright mind and determination, it didn’t take him long to decide what to make his life’s work.

“I chose a career in medicine because of my desire to help people,” Thu said.

Now a board-certified internist, Thu graduated from the Institute of Medicine in Yangon in Myanmar, then completed residency at the Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. Thu served as an attending physician at the Wyckoff Heights Medical Center ambulatory care clinic and as its “preceptor,” instructing and supervising medical residents and medical students there.

Moving to Florida, he is now associated with Quality Medical Care and has been recognized by the Brevard Physicians Network as a top performer for 2011 for his Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set care and service rating.

“We closely monitor the patients’ records and maintain good communication with the patient and the health care team.”

He said a number of factors have played a part in earning that distinction. “We closely monitor the patients’ records and pay attention to detail,” Thu said.

“We follow the standards of care for the patients’ medical conditions and maintain good communication with the patient and the health care team.”

That translates into high marks and praise from patients for Thu and his staff for listening closely to patient concerns and exceeding their expectation for the length of time given to each patient.

Thu’s staff of four includes three medical assistants and a receptionist. His office is at 1264 Malabar Road S.E. in Palm Bay.
