Young Anglers Turn Out In Titusville For Event

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA –The First annual Space Coast Fishing for a Cure event was held at Sand Point Park in Titusville on Sunday.

All of the children who registered received a free rod and real to participate in the event.

Kids from all over the Brevard came out to support cancer research while learning about the the fundamentals of fishing and the importance of nature conservation.

Space Coast Chapter of “Kids Fishing for A Cure” is a non-profit organization which provides financial support to research hospitals/foundations dedicated to developing cures for cancer and childhood diseases.

Monies are raised through community- sponsored outdoor events designed for youth. Additionally, the group promotes personal growth and appreciation of nature through adult-mentored outdoor activities.

Front Deck Entertainment

The Derby hosted by Captain Troy, president of the Space Coast Chapter and James Smith, CEO of Front Deck Entertainment and the host of the Coastal Angler Saltwater Show. Smith came all the way from Canada to support this event.

Fish Bait Radio was also there in person working with the kids.

The event was set up with a series of stations where before the tournament children and their family could take short workshops about safety, procedures, as well as baiting and casting a fishing rod.

All of the children who registered received a free rod and real to participate in the event.

This worthwhile event was a success and hosted by exceptional people who are giving back to both nature and our children.

James Smith assists a young angler. Experienced and novice fishermen gathered in Tiitusville on Sunday for the First annual KIds Fishing For A Cure event.

The mission of Space Coast Chapter of KFFAC is to instill strong positive values in today’s youth which include:

• An appreciation of good health as a gift from God

 A desire to help those in need

• An understanding that participation in community events, such as outdoor sporting events, can provide service to those in need as well as foster relationships with others

  1. Thank you for the great write up. We had a great time with the kids in Titusville and enjoyed every moment of it. We would like to thank Space Coast Daily for helping us get the true meaning of this event out and to all our great sponsors and volunteers that made this event possible.

    But most of all thanks to all the kids and parents that came, With out you it wouldn’t had happen. Our kids is tomorrows future..
