BREVARD COUNTY • WEST MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Police in West Melbourne have arrested a Palm Bay man suspected of threatening to kill his estranged wife.

Michael Walker, 35, was taken into custody at 5:30 p.m. Thursday on charges of aggravated stalking/domestic, placing a destructive device, burglary and grand theft.

West Melbourne Police Commander Steve Wilkinson said Walker was arrested after he leaving a gasoline can at the front door of 1104 Sedgewood Drive in West Melbourne where his estranged wife resided with a lit piece of paper sticking out of the opening.

The can of gasoline failed to ignite and explode.

Earlier Walker made death threats to several people including his former wife and a male friend of hers and had broken into her home and stolen several items of property.
