Valuable Rolex Prize Thrills Florida Tech Raffle Winner

BREVARD COUNTY • INDIALANTIC, FLORIDA – A really happy winner has walked away with an expensive wristwatch after winning a raffle to benefit Florida Tech’s Scott Center for Autism.
Fred Williams of Melbourne won the $6,325 Rolex Oyster Perpetual Explorer II watch donated by Kempf’s Jewelers in Indialantic.
The raffle raised $25,000 for the Scott Center for Autism, which offers It provides treatment, education and training for persons with autism spectrum disorders and their families from Brevard, Indian River, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole and Volusia counties.
Williams is a volunteer at Harmony Farms, which provides equine-assisted therapy in East Central Florida.
The watch has a 40mm, stainless steel, 24-hour bezel and hand; independently adjustable 12-hour hand; 31-jewel chronometer movement; synthetic sapphire crystal, with an Oysterlock bracelet.
“It was a most unexpected surprise,” Williams said. “I love watches and plan on keeping the Rolex, which will certainly be the nicest watch I will ever own. I would like to thank Kempf’s for their amazing generosity.”
The Scott Center opened in October 2009 and implements research-based practices, partners with schools and families and collaborates with other professionals.
