Boat Blows Up While Fueling

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Several people were injured this morning at a marina in Titusville.

Titusville rescue personnel were called to the scene of an explosion about 11:22 a.m. at the Titusville Municipal Marina at 451 Marina Road.

A 35-foot boat was taking on fuel at the marina when the explosion occurred.

The blast ripped the top off the vessel.

Two people on the boat sustained injuries, one critically. The person critically injured was been flown by helicopter to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne for treatment.

The cause of the explosion remains unknown, but a complete investigation has been launched.

The marina offers 205 boat slips and complete fueling services, including diesel fuel and gasoline for boat operators.

The marina opened to the public in late 2010.
