WELDON ENDORSEMENT

Weldon

“I have known and worked with Helen Voltz for 20 years. She is honest, hard working and a solid conservative – the kind of person we need serving in government and she has my support,” said Weldon.

Weldon, who represented the Space Coast from 1994 to 2008 in the U.S. House of Representatives, announced last Friday that he will join two other Republicans seeking to unseat incumbent Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson.

Voltz, a resident of Brevard County for over 33 years, served as Commissioner for Brevard County’s 3rd District from 2004-2008. Voltz’s past public service also includes four years as Commissioner for District 5 (1996-2000) and three years on the Palm Bay City Council (1990-1993).

During the past two years, Voltz has also served as president of the Republican Women’s Network.

  1. When the unions endorse a candidate that tells you all you need to know- vote against that person.

  2. Yea..right. Go ahead and vote against your firefighters and police force. And you will be the first to ask for their assistance when you or your loved ones are in need. She has their support because she cares…like they do.

  3. In her prior stint as a Commissioner Helen presided over some of the most dramatic spending increases this county has ever seen AND voted to implement the fire fee about which County Attorney said in answer to an inquiry about its legality, “it’s not a problem as long as nobody sues us.”

It’s no wonder the firefighters and law enforcement folks are on board – it’s all about who will vote to give them more money, declining revenues and taxpayers be damned. Her entire platform consists of playing nice and “going along to get along” – again just the kind of Commissioner the unions want in place so hey can steamroll her.

That Parker and Weldon have endorsed her tells you everything you need to know about them and where they stand in regards to spending and taxes. Unsustainable spending first, taxpayers second.
