Enchanted Forest Reveals Host Of August Activities

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Guided nature hikes, Forest Funday and tales from the trail are among the many free activities planned in August at the Enchanted Forest Sanctuary.
The Enchanted Forest Sanctuary Management and Education Center, 444 Columbia Blvd., in Titusville, is part of the Environmentally Endangered Lands Program through the Brevard County parks and Recreation Department.
Here’s a look at events in August:
• Guided Nature Hikes: 10 a.m. Saturdays. A 45-minute interpretive hike offered every Saturday. Bring hat, water and walking shoes. No reservations needed. Groups of five or more, please RSVP.
• Friends of Enchanted Forest: 6:30 p.m., Aug. 16. DerinDuo Adventures and Tales from the Appalachian Trail.Come listen to the entertaining and exciting tales from the trail with Rex and Colleen Derin, the DerinDuo. This adventurous couple hiked the trail from Maine to Georgia and have a wonderful presentation complete with their gear setups, photos, answers to the most often asked questions, and Trail Magic. Light refreshments provided.
• Photography Club: 9 to 11 a.m., Aug. 18. Program for all levels of photography. Topics of discussion are photographs,equipment, displaying your work and more. All are welcome and reservations not required.
•Forest Funday for children: 2 to 4 p.m., Aug. 19. Nature program for children and families to enjoy the outdoors. Please join us anytime between 2 to 4 p.m. to do a Sanctuary Search (a non-collecting scavenger hunt), an activity and an art project.
